How It Began
​
We launched AVVM back at the start of the pandemic in 2020. With lot of traders losing access to their physical trading space and many selling their stock exclusively online, the goal was to bring together vintage sellers and buyers in one place at one time for a unique virtual shopping experience, all from the safety of our homes. It was a response to the challenging time facing vintage traders and small businesses due to the global pandemic.

After the success of the first virtual market in April, it was decided that the market would be held once a month.
​
Where We Are Today
​
In May, we launched our Show & Tell Tuesdays where we invite guests to open the doors to their wardrobes and show us their favourite vintage pieces. We also launched our Journal, an online blog where traders, collectors and historians can write about topics that fascinate them and share their expert knowledge. You can find our catalogue of IG Lives on our IG.

In July we launched A Virtual Vintage Reworked Market, the sister Market to AVVM, which is a monthly Market showcasing contemporary fashion made from reworked and repurposed vintage garments, fabrics and materials. ​
​
Soon followed our Sustainable Lifestyle Market and seasonal Easter, Summer & Christmas Markets. We also started working with homewares & artisan brands.

Over the last 2 years, we have grown our online community, worked with hundreds of small brands and organised countless Markets as well as a virtual Pop-Up!
